On June 29, 2026, the Chairs of Advanced Studies for Sovereignty brought together around thirty participants to address an emerging question: how can cognitive sovereignty be defined and measured? The first working session explored different conceptions of cognitive sovereignty, as well as the associated threats and opportunities. During the second session, participants proposed several indicators and criteria for cognitive sovereignty that could contribute to the development of a future index.

As digital value chains become increasingly complex, control over data is becoming a central issue of sovereignty. This workshop on June 8th 2026 explored how data sovereignty can be defined and assessed at the level of a European company, taking into account the conditions under which data are collected, stored, accessed, shared, transferred, processed and used.

On April 1, 2026, the Chairs of Advanced Studies for Sovereignty were pleased to bring together 50 participants from a dozen different sectors. Representatives from finance and insurance, industry, energy, transport, technology and telecommunications, and defence, as well as from public institutions, regulatory bodies, and academia, exchanged perspectives to further define and assess sovereignty at the organisational level.
